Certificate Application
Once everything is done, Marion will submit the required paperwork and you can then apply for an Official Marriage Certificate using this form. If you provide Marion with this form as soon as possible after the wedding, she can make those arrangements on your behalf
Life will be easier and things will move faster if you ask Marion to make all the certificate arrangements for you!
Legal Information
Lets start with the basics. You will need to complete a Notice Of Intention to Marry (NOIM) at least 30 days prior to the date you wish to wed – you will find one of these in my Resources tab.
We will need to meet to complete this, only one party needs to legally be present to sign this document and start the process and it’s obviously better if both parties can be present.
You will need to bring the following documents/information to be sighted and signed off:
Born in Australia?
Yes :- Australian Passport OR full extract of birth and Photo ID
No :- Need foreign passport and/or birth certificate. If unable to provide need CofA (Commonwealth of Australia) Statutory Declaration completed and signed (legally binding document)
All foreign documents supplied must be translated into English and be authenticated
If either party has been previously married, need to have original copies of final divorce papers (or death certificate)
